Authenticate Report
Falsifying an analysis report is a criminal offence under Swiss law (Article 251 of the Swiss Criminal Code, "Urkundenfälschung"). This includes altering test results, fabricating values, or reusing our report layout, logo or trademarks — acts that can additionally infringe copyright and trademark law.
Our analysis reports issued from 1 January 2019 onwards carry a QR code. Scanning it with a smartphone downloads the original document directly from our system, allowing you to verify authenticity in seconds.
For older reports issued before 31 December 2018, please contact us by email and attach the report in question. We will verify it and respond. This service is free of charge.
There are several characteristics you can check yourself when verifying an analysis report. Ask yourself the following questions:
- For reports issued from 1 January 2019 onwards: is a QR code present, and does scanning it lead to the same document you have in front of you?
- Are identifying fields missing or inconsistent — in particular our internal sample reference, the invoice number, or the addressee?
- Are there different typefaces or font sizes that do not match the design? Any other visual discrepancies?
- Is the CBD-Test logo present?
- Does it bear the signature of our laboratory manager and the address of our laboratory?
- Is there an addressee, or has it been blacked out? Where addressees are blacked out, ask for the original document. If that is not possible, request a re-analysis of the material.
- Do the results make sense for the material that was tested?
- Photographs, photocopies and screenshots can only be authenticated if the QR code is fully visible and scannable. If the QR code is missing, blurred or covered, the document cannot be verified.
We recommend that all market participants critically review reports and only buy or sell material accompanied by trustworthy, complete analysis reports. In cases of doubt, please contact us directly.
